1. Overview:
In bovine colostrum and milk, immunoglobulin G (IgG; subclasses IgG1 and IgG2) is the major immune component, although low levels of IgA and IgM are also present. IgG is the main type of antibody found in blood and extracellular fluid, allowing it to control infection of body tissues.
2. Principle:
The basis of the measurement is the antigen-antibody reaction. Antibodies are connected to the column and the IgG in the sample is extracted, filtered, and diluted, and then passed slowly through the bovine immunoglobulin G immunoaffinity column. The target substances bind to the antibodies in the column and the immunoaffinity column is then washed to remove other unrelated substances that have not been bound. Bovine Immunoglobulin G is eluted with methanol and then injected into an analytical instrument for detection.
