Gentamicin (GEN) is an aminoglycoside antibiotic, which mainly acts on Gram-negative bacteria. Because of its wide antibacterial spectrum, good curative effect and low price, it is widely used in veterinary clinics and animal feed additives. However, the effective concentration of GEN serum is very similar to the toxic concentration, and the safety range is small. It is prone to toxic and side effects during its application. In particular, the irregular use of large doses can easily lead to excessive GEN residues in animal foods, posing a hazard to human health. The damage to the brain nerves, hearing and kidneys is severe.
